An ablation catheter is a thin, flexible tube used in a minimally invasive procedure (catheter ablation) to treat abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) by destroying tiny areas of heart tissue causing the electrical problem, restoring a normal heartbeat, often using heat (radiofrequency), cold (cryoablation), or pulsed electric fields. The catheter maps the heart’s electrical signals to pinpoint the source, then delivers energy to create scars that block faulty signals, offering a drug-free alternative for conditions like atrial fibrillation (AFib).

![]() FlexAbility™ Ablation Catheter, Sensor Enabled™ The FlexAbility SE Ablation Catheter is a long, flexible wire with a metal electrode at its tip that can be heated. It is approved to treat atrial flutter- an abnormal rhythm in the heart’s upper chambers that leads to fast heartbeats. Indications now also includes the treatment of ventricular tachycardia, a rapid rhythm disorder originating in the lower heart chambers. Specifically, it is indicated for recurrent, sustained ventricular tachycardia (episodes lasting more than 30 seconds) or episodes that trigger an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), when the condition is caused by diseased heart muscle in the absence of blocked or narrowed coronary arteries and is not adequately controlled by medication. | Abbott Vascular 3200 Lakeside Drive, Santa Clara, CA 95054, USA |
![]() The TactiFlex™ Ablation Catheter, Sensor Enabled™ The TactiFlex™ Ablation Catheter, Sensor Enabled™, is used for cardiac mapping and to treat certain abnormal heart rhythms. It is indicated for patients with recurrent, symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and concurrent atrial flutter that has not responded to drug therapy. The catheter must be used with a compatible radiofrequency (RF) generator and a three-dimensional mapping system. | Abbott Vascular 3200 Lakeside Drive, Santa Clara, CA 95054, USA |
![]() Sphere-9™ catheter The Sphere-9 Catheter, used with the Affera Mapping System, is indicated for: – Cardiac Electrophysiological Procedures: – Mapping (stimulation and electrogram recording) Radiofrequency ablation to treat: – Drug-refractory, recurrent, symptomatic persistent atrial fibrillation (episode duration <1 year) – Cavotricuspid isthmus-dependent atrial flutter | MedTronic 710 Medtronic Parkway Minneapolis, MN 55432-5604 USA |
![]() QDOT MICRO™ Catheter The QDOT MICRO™ Uni-Directional Catheter (Biosense Webster) is designed for cardiac mapping and RF ablation. Its deflectable, multi-electrode tip incorporates force-sensing technology to measure catheter-tissue contact in real time. The 7.5 F catheter is used with a compatible RF generator and dispersive electrode pad for ablation procedures. | Biosense Webster, Inc. 31 Technology Drive, Suite 200 Irvine, CA 92618 USA |
