The GENSPEED R2 analyzer is a compact, automated in vitro diagnostics system that uses microfluidics to perform rapid, multiplex testing for a variety of analytes at the point of care. It is developed and manufactured by Genspeed Biotech GmbH, a spin-off of Greiner Bio-One.
Applications and Test Kits
The GENSPEED R2 is a versatile platform used with a variety of test kits for different diagnostic purposes:
- Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAIs): It is used with the GENSPEED MRSA test kit to rapidly detect methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) within about 75 minutes, targeting both the mecA and mecC resistance genes.
- C. difficile Detection: The GENSPEED C. diff OneStep R2 test kit allows for the rapid identification of toxigenic C. difficile by detecting relevant genes (GDH, toxin A, toxin B, binary toxin) in a single step.
- Antibody Testing: It can perform semi-quantitative antibody tests, such as the GENSPEED FSME IgG xPOC test for tick-borne encephalitis (TBE).
- Periodontitis Diagnostics: The PerioPOC Pro test system is used in dental offices for the direct detection of periodontitis pathogens via RNA-based testing, aiding in targeted treatment and prevention.
- Other Biomarkers: The system can quantify various other biomarkers, including inflammation markers like CRP and Vitamin D.
